I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.

Happy Mothers Day!
Ahhhh, the sweet smell of non-consumerism! For Mothers Day I received gorgeous handmade cards from my two older girls and a handmade bookmark (I do love my books), organic blueberry pancakes for breakfast (made by DH) and a day to just potter in the garden and read books, accompanied by cups of organic fair-trade coffee. Not a hint of commercialism in sight, and I couldn't have asked for a better day :-) Happy Mothers Day to all you other Mums!

Happy Mothers Day to you! I just stumbled on your blog this AM and wanted to say: "Go Green!" Nice job. I am into organic foods too...learning about being mroe green. Back in March I went to a Natural Product Expo in Anaheim CA, I wrote about it on my blog back in March. I also feed my dog and cat organic pet food. Anyway just wanted to say hi.
Hi Rick, thanks for the good wishes! I always love to read and hear about what others are doing around the world to green their lives, so thanks for leaving a comment :-) Cheers!
Dear Crazy Mumma, I recently (but belatedly) saw your comments at my blog, and just wanted to say thanks - for the words of support, but also for being part of the inspiration for the blog in the first place. I love how you work through the sustainability issues so methodically - it saves the rest of us reinventing the wheel.
Thanks mandarina, I love that other people are getting some use out of my research :-) I, in return, am inspired by like-minded people such as yourself. I'm hoping that one day soon my real- life community will be as supportive as my online one...
