Old Sneakers?
DH and I both have an old pair of sneakers each kicking around in the bottom of our wardrobe that I haven't gotten around the throwing out yet. His have a small hole in the toe of one shoe and mine have worn through the lining in the inside heels - but are in otherwise good condition. It seems such a waste of resources to dump them in landfill which is why they are still in the wardrobe!
Today however, I came across this Australian site, Recycled Runners. They are a non-profit organisation that takes old, clean runners in any condition (only runenrs, not other shoes) and donates them to others in need in the Asia Pacific region.
They currently have pick up sites in Sydney NSW, Coburg VIC and Launceston TAS, but you can also mail them in.
