Doing: ...Sending "rain" via thought transferance to all the dry areas that need it! Seriously, we are soaked here and the forecast is for up to 100mm of rain along this part of the east coast today!! There was 366mm (around 15 inches) in the last 24 hours at Dorrigo apparently (yikes!) and it's heading this way. It's only drizzling here at the moment luckily, so fingers crossed, we may avoid the really heavy stuff. Still, my bean seeds have pretty much all germinated - amazing!

Of course the lettuce is doing really well too, they will be ready to start picking leaves from soon.

...Sitting by the open window watching the rain and taking down the hems of my daughter's three second-hand school uniforms (which we were most fortunate to have received for nothing via a friend). In past times I would have simply bought new uniforms when the current ones were too short, because letting them down - although a very simple process - "took too much time". It
is taking me quite a while, but only because I'm not used to this sort of thing, LOL. And my neck is aching!! Clearly, seasoned sewers bring the work
up to their focus level, instead of bending over their work; you learn as you go I guess, LOL.
Making: Yoghurt.
Picking: Silverbeet. A couple of ripe cherry guavas, our first from the bushes. The taste is interesting; not really reminiscent of anything I can think of other than Lilly Pillies (which they aren't related to). A bit tart; possibly I picked them before they were completely ripe? Would definitely make a nice jam. They are only young bushes so only have a couple of guavas on them, next year I hope to get a good crop.
Dinner: Silverbeet and lentil lasagne with garlic bread.

Utility Averages for 2008/February: Gas 31.5/20.0 MJ/day; water 395/202.5 L/day; electricity 14.3/8.8 kWh/day. Doing *much* better this month so far.
Contemplating: Making
this wrap dress for one of my girls. I'm thinking thrifted fabric, although I don't know what yet (or where from)...

A garden looks even bett when it has rain droplets on it...
Congratulations on the beans I know they are one of "those Crops" in your garden.
Nothing like a bit of rain to freshen up the look of everything
Kind Regards
Belinda
Hi Julie, I've passed an archive meme on to you - so feel free to participate or not. :) Since I'm only a new reader of yours I would love to see what you rate out of your archives though!
Hi GF, yes, doesn't everything look wonderful with little droplets of rain all over?
Hi Belinda, I have my fingers and toes all crossed now that the beans are actually up, that they don't get devoured by bugs!
Hi Nikki, yikes, another meme! LOL. Actually this one will be good, so thanks ;-)
Cheers, Julie
