When I put my career as an environmental scientist on hold to stay at home with my three little girls, a friend told me I was "crazy"!
It's the same reaction I usually get from my peers when I mention Peak Oil or that I want to learn how to make cheese, spin wool and weave my own baskets.
I yearn for an acre or two, but for now my family live on a small block in suburbia. We grow vegies and dwarf fruit trees, making do with what we have, trying to live lightly and more sustainably, preparing for a future living with the effects of Climate Change and the end of cheap oil.
