Yep, it's trees! I had two vouchers from Daley's about to expire next week, so I sneaked in an order of more trees while DH is out of town for a funeral. Shhhhhh ;-)
The order comprised of five more dwarf coffee bushes (so that gives me seven now):
These bushes will be going along here, at the back of the house (you can see where I've already planted one!):
The remaining Murrayas (Orange Jessamine) are being donated to my in-laws this weekend.
The rest of the order was another two dwarf apple trees: Golden Dorsetts to be exact. They are another tropical variety which have a very low chill requirement (about 100 hours), and they cross-pollinate well with the two varieties I planted in pots out in the front yard ("Anna" and "Tropic Sweet"), which posted about the other day.
These two trees will probably also go in pots next to the first two apples in the front yard. That means I now - along with the two "Pinkabelle" apples - have a total of six dwarf apple trees. Can you tell we all really like apples? Yum :-)

Oooh, very nice!
On the bannanas - well, we didn't do any research or anything.... just broke them off the tree when the tree looked like it might snap in half from the weight. Then put them in our laundry area as I though I remembered they had to be kept in a cool, dark place. Peter didn't mind them too much but I did. And of course it could have been the species as this one produced short, stubby bannanas but I don't think they were lady fingers. I am sure yours will taste delish!
Yum! Our ballerina apples are slowly turning red for harvest and the pears are still too hard to pick. Can I ask a question (not afraid to sound stupid): are coffee bushes...well....coffee bushes? What will you do with the beans or whatever it is that comes from them?
Hi Lisa, yes coffee bushes produce coffee beans :-) They will take about 2-3 years to start bearing fruit I gather, but after that we can harvest the berries and extract and dry the beans, then roast our our own coffee! Yum :-D When the bushes are fully mature we should be able to supply 2 cups of coffee a day for around 9 months (in theory). Cheers, Julie
Oh, how exciting! I'd *love* to be able to grow coffee.
My summer vegies are finishing up at the mo' and I'm not planting anything for winter (fruit or veg)unless we get some cooler conditions and significant and prolonged rains.
