I tell you, I was destined to be interested in the environment when my birthday was declared World Environment Day ;-)
The slogan for this year's WED is "Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy". So one of the first things I did this morning was to send an email to Environment Minister Peter Garrett about the new income limit for the solar panels rebate, via ACF.
The rest of the day will be spent pretty routinely, trying to live as simply and low-carbonly (sorry, I know that isn't a word!) as possible. No flashy, consumerist presents, just some fabulous hand made cards from the kids to go with my Warm Earth magazine subscription, and hubby cooking the dinner tonight. Actually, I feel a need for some fresh, hot scones (and jam and cream... with a nice pot of tea) coming on - so I'm off to whip up a batch. A big batch, just to make the sure the oven is being used efficiently ;-)

Hope you had a great WED and a fantastic b'day!!
Happy Birthday. I bet the scones were yummy.
Happy Birthday Crazy Mumma. I hope you enjoyed your day.
I too sent of a wonderful email to our not so bright environ-mental minister via the ACF. It made me feel better, but I just wish he would get his act together, first the pulp mill, and now this crap!
A Great Big Happy Birthday to you, Crazy Mumma - to go with your big batch of scones!
Enjoy the day! (I KNOW you'll enjoy the scones...)
