Yeak OK, it's nothing special, but I did cook it from scratch and I did point out yesterday that I am NOT a cake decorator LOL. Miss Five picked the cake and toppings well as the homegrown mulberries and blueberries went beautifully with the chocolate cake and cream. It's such a pity we don't have any ripe strawberries yet, because they would have finished it off beautifully!
Oh, and she loved the felt play food I made, the afternoon was one big tea party I think ;-)
DH took the morning off work (it's a bit quiet at the moment, they are in between big jobs) and we took the girls to an indoor playcentre which has a much-raved about Tea-cup Merry-go-Round and giant slide, amongst other things. We took our own water and treated the girls to some hot chips (because they - shock, horror! - came in a crockery bowl so minimal rubbish was generated). Three tea-cup rides, umpteen dozen slides facing every conceiveable direction and goodness knows how long spent jumping on the jumping castle, we finally headed home with three very exhausted, but happy, girls :-)
I'm very, very tired, and am struggling to make sense as I type LOL. I've been off my thyroid medication for a week now - under Dr's orders - and I know I'm not well as the all-too-familar bone-weary fatigue and inability to concentrate has set in once again. (For new readers, I have Graves' Disease, an auto-immune disease, and I had radioactive iodine treatment in July with the aim of controlling it.) Apologies if I don't mange to post every day for a little while, although I'll try - I am so inspired by all of your emails telling me how you've started growing vegies or cooking from scratch because of something I have written! But I know you'll understand if I don't :-)

I hope you feel better soon! Don't worry about posting everyday. You are one of my most favorite blogs and I will read you no matter when you post! :)
Happy birthday to your girl! Family days are the best :)
Wishing you lots of rest, hope things look up for you on the health front xxx
The cake looks devine, I bet it was really yummy. I hope you are feeling better real soon, there is nothing worse than feeling down. I just love your blog, look forward to reading more when you are feeling better. Look after your self.
Tracie xx
take care of yourself which the best thing you could ever do
Hey you!
Rest, rest and more rest. Easily preached but you know that I know where you are at.
I don't know what the answer is with GD, for people who have always been full of energy and on the go it is truly awful to have that plug pulled on you.
Although I miss your posts your only responsibilities are your health and your family right now.

good luck with getting your health back on track
Don't make me come down there, young lady. You get all the rest you need. We'll all be here waiting when you are well enough to return. I send love and hugs. Happy birthday to Miss 5.
Happy birthday to Miss 5 - the cake looked gorgeous!
Take care of yourself..
Hi Julie,
It is a beautiful cake because it was made with love and toppings grown from your garden.
Sad to hear about your health Julie. A timely reminder of what is really important in life; health, happiness and family.
Wish you good health Julie.

Hi Kel,
Thanks mate :-)
Hi Gen,
Hello and thanks for stopping by :-)
Hi Beth,
Aw thanks :-)
Hi Em,
Yeah I like family days too, it was wonderful that DH could have some time off work on her special day :-)
Hi Tracie,
Thank you! Yes, the cake tasted pretty good - Miss 5 was impressed anyway and that's the main thing.
Hi dmoms,
Thanks, and yes you are right. No point in my girls having a mum who isn't fun to live with so some 'me' time now and then is justified I think.
Hey L,
I know you understand mate, it's such a downer isn't it? Ah well, at least I am justified in having a nana-nap in the afternoon now ;-)
Hi jacqui,
Thanks :-)
Hi Rhonda,
LOL, what do I have to do to get you to come and visit then? I'm beyond trying to push myself these days, so I'll definitely be taking it easy, thanks :-)
Hi Kez,
I was all geared up to follow your example of Billy's birthday party but then my thyroid kicked in which was a bummer :-( Never mind, the cake at least, was good!
Hi Sarhn,
Thank you! Your comments are much appreciated :-)
Cheers, Julie
