I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.

This blog is on indefinite hiatus but please feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Simple seed-saving: a self-sown "Freckles" Cos lettuce gone to seed in the hot weather.
Free, cute printable seed packets here.

Thanks for the link to the seed packets, they are so cute. I have just printed some out and will put some seeds in them along with a plant and there is a chistmas presie.

Cute! That's my next challenge - to try and save some seeds.

How ya feeling?

Hi Old Dairy,
They are cute aren't they? What a terrific present idea too, thanks I might pinch that ;-)

Hi Kimmysmum,
It's pretty straight forward, although I haven't planted my seeds yet LOL. If they can come up by themselves I figure there's not too much that I can do wrong?

Hi Kez,
Feeling a bit better thanks :-) The hands have stopped shaking so much which is great - it's quite annoying and uncomfortable.

Cheers, Julie
