That was followed by Miss Five not wanting to stay at preschool because her best friends were away on holidays, whilst Miss Three didn't want to leave. Despite staying for over half an hour, no amount of carefully considered discussion, cajoling or bribery was going to work on either child, so there were tears aplenty on both sides as one clutched my leg, another wriggled desperately to free her arm and my eldest demanded to go and sit in the car because she had a sore throat and a headache.
Then it was stinking hot and blew a gale all day; you can just imagine what that did to all of our tempers, not to mention my freshly planted seedlings :-(
Still, when the wind finally abated a little late afternoon, and I went out with some vague hope of resurrecting my vegie seedlings with a nice soak, I was presented with this:
I'm sure there's a moral in there somewhere ;-)
***Edited to add: Sorry for sounding a bit melodramatic, one of the side effects of my illness is feeling a little, um, overemotional, shall we say! I'm so sorry for making anyone feel paranoid about commenting here on my blog, I love each and every one :-) ***

Cheers, Julie
