I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.

This blog is on indefinite hiatus but please feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably.

There's no chance of scurvy at my house...

Yup, that sucker weighs 451 grams - or 1 pound in the old speak.

...And yes, it's definitely a (Meyer) lemon, not a grapefruit ;-)

That's really a wonderful lemon.

That is quite a lemon! Something about organic lemons, I've seen some surprisingly large lemons at a local organic grocer recently!

Hi Belinda,
Yes indeed! It seems a shame to actually cut it up though LOL, so I'm just admiring my lemon-growing prowess at the moment ;-)

Hi livinginalocalzone,
That's pretty much what I said :-)

Hi La Ferme de Sourrou,
Thank you! I love your blog, it always inspires me to do more :-)

Hi Preparednesspro,
Yes, it must be a good year for lemons I think :-)

Cheers, Julie

Damn! And I thought I had just grown the biggest lemon lol. My daughter and I just picked some to make some more marmalade, and one is like a grapefruit in size! I just weighed it- 400gms. Not bad for our second season :D
