I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.

This blog is on indefinite hiatus but please feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably.

Asian White Sweet Potato

A Photo A Day Challenge: Photo #52

This isn't the best example of these sweet potatoes, they are generally a much more vibrant purple inside! I have the Asian White's and standard orange sweet potatoes growing, but this year the Asian White's are out-competing the orange for some reason (it was the reverse last year). I grew both from organic tubers I bought at the local grocer some years ago.

I started this challenge on January 5 - it is my aim to harvest at least one thing from my garden every day this year - and photograph it. If I can manage to pick 360 different varieties, then so much the better! This is 52/360.

Cheers,
