I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.
This blog is on indefinite hiatus but please feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably.

A Photo A Day Challenge: Photo #50
Classic. Not as good as Continental (Flat Leaf) Parsley, but all my flat leaf has gone to seed and I'm waiting for it to sprout anew somewhere else in the garden.
I started this challenge on January 5 - it is my aim to harvest at least one thing from my garden every day this year - and photograph it. If I can manage to pick 360 different varieties, then so much the better! This is 50/360.Cheers,

i dont know much about the place you live.. but, this may sound stupid.. do you have winter time too.. or can you have a garden all year? Right now we are covered in a foot of snow. I love coming to your site and seeing what you got to harvest EVERYDAY..
Hi anon,
We do have a winter, but there's only one place in Australia high enough to have a foot of snow, and it's many many miles away! I live on the coast, which means our winters are relatively mild - we do get down to freezing very occasionally but that's unusual, and it certainly never snows :-) By the way, it's high summer here at the moment! I expect things to slow down considerably in the garden, come winter.
Cheers, Julie
