Tuscan Kale

A Photo A Day Challenge: Photo #48

Third time lucky? Cabbage moth grubs have decimated my favourite kale twice now but like a trooper, it keeps coming back. This time I'm covering it with netting (i.e. an old curtain from an op shop).

I started this challenge on January 5 - it is my aim to harvest at least one thing from my garden every day this year - and photograph it. If I can manage to pick 360 different varieties, then so much the better! This is 48/360.

Cheers,

this is one of my favorite greens....we sort of OD'ed on it last year due to heavy rain and a fabulous harvest :-) But now, almost 10 months later, just looking at it makes my mouth water. Happy eating!

Hi Mickle,
Tuscan kale is my favourite leafy green :-)

Hi Wendy,
Yep, it's mine too! I could eat big bowlfuls just about every day, sauteed quickly with some garlic and bacon, but it makes the most divine quiche too.

Cheers, Julie

Tuscan kale is my fave, too. I'm trying to get seedlings started for winter at the moment, as I think I can easily eat double the amount I grew last year. I love it stir-fried with olive oil & garlic...
