I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.
This blog is on indefinite hiatus but please feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably.
Black Beauty Zucchini
A Photo A Day Challenge: Photo #70
Wow, an actual zucchini! Probably the first and the last of the year, and not really missed I must say, as we're still eating them out of the freezer from last year :-) I started this challenge on January 5 - it is my aim to harvest at least one thing from my garden every day this year - and photograph it. If I can manage to pick 360 different varieties, then so much the better! This is 70/360.Cheers,

We have one just like that! Just as I pulled the squash plants out (we had a massive amount from them), the zuchini seed I'd thrown in for fun late in the season, grew us a baby (and another on the way) but I guess that will be all, as it's getting a bit chilly for them now...
Hi Dixie,
Yes the nights are getting cooler up here too, so I think mine will come out shortly - they are covered in mildew anyway and I couldn't be bothered spraying.
Cheers, Julie
