I'm Julie, and I live Australian suburbia. This blog is the online journal I kept to record my family's journey towards living more simply & sustainably.

This blog is on indefinite hiatus but feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably. Please note that Blogger has 'eaten' some of my older photos which I am unable to retrieve at the moment.

I am now blogging at Our Simple Days, if you would like to stop by.

Mizuna

A Photo A Day Challenge: Photo #106

I started this challenge on January 5. It is my aim to harvest at least one thing from my garden every day this year - and photograph it. If I can manage to pick 360 different varieties, then so much the better! This is photo #106 of a possible 336 different varieties.

Cheers,

So good to see you still going with this challenge!

I have heard of Mizuna, but don't think I've eaten it... is it one of those ones included in gourmet mixed salads these days?

Your garden must be an amazing display of different plants Julie.
I have some Mizuna seeds but until now haven't found the time to plant them. Maybe today. LOL

I have recently fallen in love with Mizuna since eating it over and over while visiting family just north of you in Cundletown. I have planted some here for us and am just hoping it grows as well as it does for you over there. So far, so good!

Also I have a photo challenge for you on my blog. It'd be lovely if you could join us, but it's entirely up to you of course.

Cheers
Cee

Hi Dixiebelle,
Yes, mizuna is often in the leaf mixes you get at restaurants these days :-)

Hi Olive,
Throw them in! LOL. Actually, the garden is looking pretty tragic at the moment, hence the lack of photos! Ah well, these things happen when you get sick...

Hi Cee,
I'll pop on over for a look!

Cheers,
Julie
