Nineteen :: Kale ::

My favourite winter leafy green. It's pretty, it's super-tasty and Peter Cundall credits his longevity to a daily dose of kale, so clearly, it's good for you as well ;-)

Cheers,

Hi Julie,

I recently saw the most spectacular purple/black Kale recently but unfortunately the people who had it didn't grow it so didn't know the variety.

I am really interested in the different types of kale atm. I would appreciate hearing what that variety is, the stems look very similar to my Red Russian but the leaf structure is totally different.

Kind Regards
Belinda

Hi Sonia,
it is, isn't it?

Hi Belinda,
It's Red Bor, a hybrid unfortunately. I am also growing Red Russian this year to compare, as I prefer open-pollinated obviously, but all my seedlings are sulking at the moment. Might find out in spring!

Cheers,
Julie
