I'm Julie, and I live with my husband and three young daughters in New South Wales suburbia, Australia. This is the online journal I kept until recently, of how we are trying to live more simply & sustainably in suburbia.

This blog is on indefinite hiatus but please feel free to look around my archives for some inspiration in your own journey to living more lightly and sustainably.

Twenty Three :: Hand Made Goodness ::

Flanellette rag-quilted goodness, made by my Mum. When we moved our lounge room from one end of the house to the other last summer, it meant that we traded in the one living area which can be closed off and heated with a small oil column heater.  This winter we are cold - brrrr! - and are fighting over the flannel quilt.  Clearly, I have to learn to make my own ;-)

Cheers,

:-)

Nothing quite like a cold room to convince people of the value of "rugging up".

Kind Regards

Hi Julie.

We were down your way just before the Queens Birthday weekend and boy was it cold then for us (Queenslanders!!!!) I can see that the quilt would be well used :-) Best regards Linda

That quilt is absolutely beautiful. You are so lucky to have an heirloom to keep, use, treasure, and pass on :-)
