L-R, top to bottom:
Knitted cotton halter top (Ravelry link).
Wooden mushrooms and blocks, made by my FIL, and inspired by these. He made a box with a sliding lid to house them, and I painted "Gnome Village Blocks" on the sides. To the box I added two pieces of green 'grass' (upholstery fabric samples), a packet of dried flowers and three gnomes (from here) in a small wooden box ('house') I had in the cupboard.
Sunhat, using this pattern.
Embroidered cotton cushions; white satin stitch on white cotton fabric with braiding edge and floral backing.
Needle books, tutorial here.
Button hair clips = buttons sewn onto bobby pins.
Colouring in books, printed from here. Bound with sewing machine using a cardboard cover.
Sunhat #2, pattern as before.
Crochet flower brooches (Ravelry link).

Indoor Hopscotch mat = appliqued squares & numbers on canvas with a non-slip carpet backing sewn onto it; inspired by this one and a painted one in Reader's Digest Back to Basics.
Felt bookmarks, pattern here.
Child's fold out picnic blanket/ tote bag for my niece, tutorial here. We gave her a wooden tea set to go with it.
Car "cozy" and Matchbox cars for my nephew, tutorial here.
Knitted summer halter top #2 (Ravelry link as above).
Bean bag toss game board, inspired by a Google image search; made by my FIL, painted by me. We use the bean bags I made for DD#2 last year, and the older kids use small balls (bouncing them off the ground first to make it harder).

This year I'm going to have to get myself organised early - I have so many projects bookmarked, it will take me a few months :-)
Cheers,

Wow!!! I'm lost for words. So much TIME..EFFORT..and LOVE in everything, how truely remarkable in this day and age.
Wow!
I swore that Christmas was going to be a handmade one but ran out of time after starting a full time job.
Hi everyone!
Thank you all for your lovely comments :-) I did enjoy making everything, although I do wish I had more time - doesn't everyone? I'm not at all crafty so I am rather proud of getting all these presents together :-)
Cheers,
Julie
Thank you for posting these. They are really inspiring. I love the crocheted halter top (not that I know how to crochet), I bet my nieces would look fantastic in them.
Wow wow wow! You did well!
I love the Gnome Village Block idea.
I'm off to check out the downloadable colouring book. And I like the idea of binding with the sewing machine. I hadn't thought of that.
Thanks for sharing :-)
Hi Jen,
I am a beginner crocheter, and the tops are pretty simple - have a go!
Hi Tricia,
Thanks! I forget where I saw the sewing machine binding idea, but I have been making scrap-paper notebooks for them for years doing that - get all the scraps together, trim if necessary and sew along one edge, or if they are large pieces, I fold them in half, open up and sew down the middle to make a book. Obviously it blunts the machine needles, so I have an old one I use for them, and do a big batch in one go.
Cheers,
Julie
Hi Julie, just found your blog while searching for homemade Christmas. I'm looking to making 2011 my first, great to see yours was a success last year.
