Aloe Vera is very easy to grow and thrive even if you forget to water it. I usually use the gel neat (just cut some aloe off the plant directly) and rub the gel all over face and body. Initiallybit can be sticky but once it dries, your skin feels hydrated and totally smooth. It is not sticky at all. Leave the gel on for a few hours or until your next shower.

I use that moisterizer recipe, with one little addition, since I love to spritz on my skin (my back gets itchy and dry). I add the aloe and glycerin to my favorite tea (chamomile) and put it in a spray bottle. I never have dry skin anymore! It's even great for feet!

Great Site, I like the page as I do a lot of research into free recipes and home made soaps etc.
I buy from aussiesoapsupplies all the time, they are fast and efficient as well as affordable, they have a menu site for free recipes and links and I could never be happier, too many commercial products carry too many chemicals that should not be used on the human body, making your own is great for personal use and gifts.
Remember though that moisturisers,soaps perfumes etc do need preservatives added to stop the nasties getting in, aussiesoapsuppliescom.au sell all natural preservatives, even soap needs caustic soda to hold it together, 100% percent natural soap has at least 0.5% caustic soda.

Hi Trina,

I have very oily skin, so I don't like the heaviness of commercial creamy moisturisers. This is a light mix that suits me really well. I have a friend with dry skin who also uses it and doesn't mind it although she thinks it sometimes feels a little sticky, depending on the weather?

I've been wanting to make that moisturizer, from the link you provided, but I don't have an aloe vera plant (i haven't acquired one yet even though I have a garden full of succulents). And the commercial gels I found used other ingredients i didn't like. Thank you for the link to this product. I'll look for it.
